Sturdy hemp and a fun smocked stitch pattern make this the perfect reusable market bag. Originally published as "Rutabaga" in Knitscene, Spring '07.
Yarn Requirements: worsted-weight yarn, approx 400 yds (sample uses Hemp for Knitting allhemp6 in Dijon) Gauge: approx 18 sts/20 rows = 4” in mesh pattern on size 10.5 (6.5mm) needles (gauge is not critical for this project) Difficulty: advanced beginner Size: approx 13" x 13" excluding strap Printed on 100% recycled paper and enclosed in a heavyweight plastic sheet protector.
